This is an easy reading book that is well written and well laid out. There are many easy to follow charts and lists covering all the basics of pinhole camera making as well as using one. The book also goes into how they work and gives you just enough background on them to allow you to understand why and how they work and how long they have been around. As the title says, it is a BEGINNER's GUIDE and not an in depth look into how pinhole cameras are made or how to take pictures with them. This book will leave you able to make and use your first homemade pinhole camera. If you are looking for some sort of in depth look into the world of pinhole photography then this is going to be a disappointing book for you. This book will leave you ready to make your first pinhole camera and take as well as develop your first shots with it.I bought the Kindle Edition and have it on my Kindle Fire. I have it all highlighted and ready to reference as I make my first pinhole camera. Reading through the book took about an hour. I'd say this would make a pretty nice book for a teacher to have on hand for a class project since the language is easy to follow and use plus it is written in a fun way that should keep kids interested in it. It goes into making a darkroom (out of a refrigerator box) so you can load and unload cameras, plus develop your new pictures yourself if you wish to do so. I enjoyed the book and plan on trying out a pinhole camera as soon as I am able to obtain the sheet of brass I need to make the "lens"...
